Blue Pants Brewery owner Michael Spratley joins the Beer Guys this week. Over the past six years, Spratley and his wife have grown the operation from a 1.5 barrel setup to their current production line based in Madison, Alabama.
We talk to Spratley about the beers, his sour program and Blue Pants plans to start canning....and possible expansion of their distribution.....
Truck and Tap's beers of the week are from Blue Pants, including their Oktoberfest (a much lighter version than what we usually see in the states), Weedy's Double IPA and two variations of their Pinstripe Stout - Candy Bar and Peanut Butter.
Tim's Whale of the week is Creature Comforts Athena Paradiso - their Berliner Weiss with Passion Fruit and Guava, one of Tim's all-time favorites.
We're talking bottle shops on this week's Beer Guys show! Kraig Torres, owner of Hop City joins us in studio along with Josh Doherty, specialty department manager of Harry's Farmers Market (Whole Foods).
We talk about their craft beer journey, how beer has evolved and grew all over the south, and what trends they are seeing in the industry.
Kraig also lets us know about Hop City's newest venture in Alpharetta, and how they figured out the importance of selling pints at their Krog Street Market location.
Also, talented local artist Rory "Catlanta" Hawkins stopped by to hang out as well. Check out his artwork here.
Tim and Aaron also talked to Dan Roberts, Executive Director of the Alabama Brewer's Guild about the latest in their beer-to-go debate.
Next week? One of Tim and Aaron's favorite brewers from Alabama, Blue Pants!

It's a beer that you always keep stocked in the fridge or cooler, ready to go after a hard day of work or relaxing at the beach or a party.
Red Hare Brewing Company aims to be the craft beer that's stocking that fridge or cooler.
We talked to Roger Davis, Managing Partner and Bobby Thomas, Head Brewer of Red Hare on the show. We talked about their start, born out of the recession of 2008-09, and the importance of canning their offerings.
Truck and Tap's beers of the week? Red Hare's SPF 50/50 "IPR," an India Pale Radler with grapefruit soda. And their newest creation, Cotton Tail Orange Creamsic-Ale, an orange/vanilla take on their pale ale.
Tim's Whales of the week are Orpheus Brewing's Even The Furies Wept. We sampled this earlier in the year on the show, and now it's available. Also, Three Taverns Night On Ponce IPA, which is their second can release.
The Hot list includes the Georgia launch of Hi-Wire Brewing, as well as Wish You Were Beer's third anniversary week. Details at beerguysradio.com.
Next week? We'll be talking all things bottle shops with Hop City and Whole Foods. Join us on the socials for even more beer happenings across the southeast!
Creature Comforts is big into the collaboration game these days.
More recently, Creature Comforts teamed up with Austin, Texas brewers Jester King.
The result, Mutualism, is a "Southern Style Farmhouse Lager," with a nice mix of both Creature Comforts and Jester King's attitudes, approaches and ingredients.
Aaron sat down with Jester King's Founder Jeffrey Stuffings and Creature Comforts Blake Tyers during their release party earlier this summer.
They talk about how this collaboration came about, the two breweries' common philosophy, and what's coming up next for the two.
The Beer Guys sit down with Taylor Lamm, co-owner and head brewer at Oconee Brewing Company in Greensboro, Georgia.
We talk to him about the startup process, and his background in brewing.
Also, we speak with Jeremy Cowan from New York's Shmaltz Brewing about his new collaboration with Terrapin....as well as their new distribution partnership with Liberator.
Finally, friend of the show Nick Hudson from Alabama's Free the Hops talks to us about a ridiculous new proposal affecting growler sales.
Truck and Tap's Beers of the week are Oconee's Kolsch, IPA and Chili Pale Ale.
We also have Tim's Whalez of the Week, the Hot List and more!
